Effective Monday, July 1, 2013, Fairfax Connector will change its transfer policy for Virginia Railway Express (VRE) passengers, in order to match the fare structure of other regional transit providers.

Passengers transferring from the VRE system to a Fairfax Connector bus will be allowed a free, one-way transfer when boarding at a VRE station in Fairfax County. Those stations are: Burke Centre, Rolling Road and Backlick Road on the Manassas Line, and Lorton and Franconia-Springfield on the Fredericksburg Line. Passengers must display valid VRE fare media (passes, tickets). Passengers returning on a Fairfax Connector bus to a VRE station are required to pay the full, applicable bus fare.
