Season’s Greetings from TAGS!
It won’t be long before the Virginia General Assembly convenes in January, causing us to think about the Virginia Transit Association’s upcoming 2015 Transportation Choices Legislative Reception on January 26—just over one month away.
As you may know, TAGS is a member of the Virginia Transit Authority (VTA). VTA has had a long-standing history as an advocate for transit. The legislative reception—a gathering of transit systems and businesses to advocate and further promote transit to our state legislators in Virginia—has proven to be a very effective way of networking with our officials. It is especially important that we maintain our visibility and continue the progress transit has made by once again being a sponsor of this event.
This year VTA will combine the legislative reception with a day of legislative outreach with representatives from member systems at the General Assembly. Of special interest this year, Governor McAuliffe and his Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Layne have been invited to speak to the group
